2 wp293-16STM970-16 ORAL ORDER : (PER F.M. REIS, J.) Heard Mr. S. S. Kantak, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr. A.N.S. Nadkarni, learned Advocate General appearing for the respondents. 2.

During the course of hearing of the above petitions, Mr. S. S. Kantak, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioners has brought to our notice an ad interim order passed by this Court in Stamp Number Main No. 970/2016 dated 11th March, 2016. The learned Senior Counsel further points out that the above petitions may be disposed of in terms of the directions at para 7 of the said order. Mr. A.N.S. Nadkarni, learned Advocate General appearing for the respondents has no objection.

In view of the above, we dispose of the above writ petitions in terms of para 7 of the order dated 11th March, 2016 passed in Stamp Number Main No. 970/2016, which reads thus : "7. As such, we find it appropriate that the respondents be directed by an ad-interim order to provide police assistance to the petitioners as and when required to ensure that there is no obstruction

3 wp293-16STM970-16 to the transportation of the ore through the public road from the concerned mine to proceed to Maina Jetty. Needless to say that any legitimate agitation by the citizens would have to be peaceful, non violent and without taking law in their own hands."

In case the petitioners desire to have any police protection, requisition shall be made at least 24 hours in advance for such police protection.
