2. Heard learned counsel for the respective parties.

3. This is an application filed for compounding of the offence on the ground that the entire amount is paid and even 15% of the amount is deposited with Goa State Legal State Authority. 25th July, 2024

4. Respondent filed a reply giving no objection for compounding, however, a request is made to transfer the amount of Rs.70,000/- in the bank account of the respondent, details of which are provided in paragraph 3 of the reply.

5. Receipt issued by the Goa State Legal Services Authority for Rs.9,000/- which has been deposited by the applicant stands accepted.

6. Amount of Rs.70,000/- deposited by the applicant shall be transferred to the account of accused no.1(b)maintained at Saraswat Co-operative Bank Curchorem branch by RTGS or any other mode. Application for compounding stands allowed.

7. Conviction and sentence awarded by the Courts below are hereby quashed and set aside. Complaint filed by the respondents under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act is accordingly stands compounded. Proceeding stands disposed of in the above terms. Pending application, if any, stands disposed of. BHARAT P. DESHPANDE, J.
