The basic complaint in this petition was that Respondents No.7 and 8 were allegedly carrying out some illegal construction and authorities under the Panchayat Raj Act were not taking action as was required under the law.

Mr. Ramaiyya, the learned Counsel appearing for Respondent No.7 states that Respondent No.7 had undertaken some repair and renovation works, but now even the same have been stopped. He points out that such 14th September 2021

6 WP 247 of 2020.doc stoppage was on account of proceedings pending before the Deputy Director of Panchayats i.e. Respondent No.5. He states that further activities will be undertaken only depending upon the decision of the Deputy Director of Panchayats. Mr. Dhargalkar points out that even the Panchayat had issued a stop-work order on 03.03.2020. 4.

From the aforesaid, it does appear that the authorities, at least now, are looking into the grievance of the Petitioner and have initiated some action in the matter. Therefore, the main relief in this petition stands worked out to a great extent. We direct Respondent No.5 i.e. the Deputy Director of Panchayats to dispose of the proceedings pending before him expeditiously. The statement made on behalf of Respondent No.7 that no further works will be undertaken pending disposal of the proceedings before the Deputy Director of Panchayats is noted and accepted. 5.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. All contentions of all parties are left open to be urged before the Deputy Director. 6.
