This is an application for condonation of delay of 50 days in filing an appeal under Section 37 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
2. According to the applicant, he was required to travel to Mumbai on account of family emergency, as a result of which, he could not take steps for filing the appeal in time.
3. The learned Counsel for the respondent no. 1 has opposed the application on the ground that the reason mentioned in the application is vague and unsubstantiated.

4. On hearing the learned Counsel for the parties and looking to the extent of delay, this Court can take a liberal view as held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of ESHA BHATTACHARJEE Vs. MANAGING COMMITTEE OF RAGHUNATHPUR NAFAR ACADEMY AND OTHERS, (2013) 12 SCC 649. In such circumstances, I find that the applicant has shown sufficient cause. The application is allowed. The delay in filing the appeal is condoned. Let the appeal be registered.
