On 31 August 2018, the following order was passed:- "The learned counsel for the Petitioners states that the impugned construction of the bridge has not been taken forward and the work has stopped. He states that if this is the position, then the Petitioners grievance regarding approach road will not survive. The learned Additional Government Advocate seeks time to take instructions as to the present position.

The learned Additional Government Advocate, on instructions from Mr. Agnelo R.Barros, Executive Engineer, PWD/WDVI (R/S.)Fatorda, states that the proposal of bridge has been dropped. He states that in view of that any grievance regarding approach road will not survive. The learned Additional Government Advocate states that the pillars, which have been put up will be removed within a period of six weeks from today. This statement is accepted. In view of this position, the learned counsel for the Petitioner accepts that the cause made out in this petition does not survive.

The prayers in this petition show that an objection was raised in public interest to the proposed bridge. Since a statement is made on behalf of the State Government that the proposal of the bridge has been dropped, cause raised in this petition does not survive.
