2. The accused was charged for the offence punishable under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code read with Section 8(2) of the Goa Children's Act, 2003. The learned President of the Children's Court for the State of Goa, Panaji, convicted the accused and sentenced him to suffer rigorous imprisonment of 12 years and to pay fine of Rs.2,00,000/-.

3. Considering the nature and gravity of the offence committed by the accused/applicant, I do not think that the accused deserved to be released on bail. Hence, the application stands rejected. K. L. WADANE, J.
