Heard Mr Sunil Chauhan who appears in person. 2.

His complaint is that there is non-compliance with this Court's order in the matter of issuing him an authenticated copy of the award dated 10.08.2021. Relying on Section 16(2) of the Industrial Disputes Act, he contends that he should have been issued a copy of the award which is signed by the Presiding Officer.

At the outset, we think that this is not at all the case of contempt. Secondly, we have examined Section 16(2) of the Industrial Disputes Act and in terms of the same, we are sure that the Presiding Officer must have signed the award. However, the Petitioner insists 12th June 2023

902-CP 9-23.DOC that this signed copy must be delivered to him. The Petitioner has been given a certified copy and that according to us, is more than sufficient to enable him to take further steps should he desires to take such steps concerning the said award. This contempt petition is misconceived and is dismissed. On this occasion, we refrain from imposing any costs on the Petitioner.
