Both these petitions arise out of the common judgment in Rent Appeal No.2/2013 and Rent Appeal No.28/2013 on the file of the learned District Judge at Margao. By the

2 WP nos 923 , 924 2016 impugned judgment, the matter has been remanded back to the learned Civil Judge Junior Division at Margao for deciding the rent case on merits in accordance with law. 2.

After hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner for sometime the learned counsel, on instructions, seeks leave to withdraw the writ petitions with a request to expedite the proceedings before the Rent Controller.

It appears from the record that the initial application for eviction was filed by the petitioner sometime in the year 1999. In such circumstances, it would be appropriate if the application is disposed of expeditiously. In the result both the writ petitions are disposed of as withdrawn. The learned trial Court shall decide the application filed by the petitioner as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of one year from the receipt of this order. Needless to mention that the learned trial Court shall decide the application on its own merits and without being influenced by any of the observations made by the learned District Judge in the impugned judgment.
