The Contempt Petition filed by the Petitioner is for non-compliance of directions issued by this Court in the Judgment dated 28.07.2015, whilst disposing of PILWP No. 23/2014.

2. During the course of the hearing of the above petition, it was pointed by the Respondent that proceedings have already been initiated and, in fact, 319 matters are pending consideration before the Commissioner.

3. On the last date of hearing, the Respondents were called upon to

CP/14/2016 decide matters which are uncontested in order that the directions issued by this Court in the said Judgment are taken to its logical conclusion. Shri Bhobe, learned Counsel appearing for the Respondent no. 2, upon instructions, states that 132 matters have already been disposed of and the remaining contested matters are being considered by the Commissioner as expeditiously as possible. Mr. Bhobe also pointed out that necessary implementation of the order passed would be complied by the Commissioner in accordance with law before the expiry of the time period specified therein.

4. Considering that action has now been initiated by the Respondent in compliance of the directions issued in the said Judgment we find that, at this stage, no further orders are required to be passed in the above petition. But, however, the Respondents are directed to ensure that the directions issued in the said Judgment are strictly complied with, as expeditiously as possible, on or before 30.06.2017.

5. Respondents to file progress report after four months.

6. Petition stands disposed of.
