Date:- 26 June 2018 P.C.:- The Petitioner has prayed that action be taken against the Respondents under the Contempt of Courts Act for breach of the order passed by this Court on 30 March 2017 in Writ Petition No.751 of 2016.

By order dated 30 March 2017, the Respondents were directed to open a sealed cover and thereafter consider the Petitioner's eligibility for promotion and to grant notional promotion, benefits and reliefs as per law. Since this was not done and no order was passed nor sealed cover was opened, the Contempt Petition was filed.

The learned Additional Government Advocate places before us the order dated 6 June 2018 stating that sealed cover has been opened and the Petitioner was promoted on Ad-hoc basis and subsequently reverted.

While considering the matter under contempt jurisdiction, since the Government has opened a sealed cover and taken a decision thereupon, we do not wish to proceed in the matter. As far as the grievance of the Petitioner with regard to order dated 6 June 2018 is concerned, it is open to the Petitioner to challenge the same, if so advised, as per law.
