Heard Mr. R. Menezes, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr. D. Lawande, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

2. By this petition, the petitioners are seeking a direction to the respondent to fill up the posts of the Chief Information Commissioner, State Information Commissioner, Lokayukta and Up-Lokayukta which are lying vacant since long.

3. It is submitted by Mr. D. Lawande, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent, that in so far as the posts of Chief Information Commissioner and the State Information

PILWP/10/2015 Commissioner are concerned, the appointments in respect of those posts are already made on 11/12/2015 and the appontees would assume office shortly.

4. As regards the posts of Lokayukta and Up-Lokayukta are concerned, Mr. Lawande, learned Government Advocate makes a statement that the State has identified certain names for the post of Lokayukta and has received some applications for the post of Up-Lokayukta and the process for appointment of Lokayukta and Up-Lokayukta is in progress.

5. The statement made on behalf of the State is accepted. The concerned Authorities to ensure that the posts of Lokayukta and Up-Lokayukta are filled up as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of four months from today.
