2 WP 464 2017, 549/2017 Oral Order:

The parties have reached an amicable settlement in respect of which the consent terms were filed on 30/8/2019 and as per the terms agreed, the petitioner in Writ Petition no.464/2017 has deposited a Pay Order in the sum of Rs.85,00,000/- (Rupees Eighty Five lakhs only) before this Court, which is payable to the respondent. The said Pay Order is kept in a sealed cover in the custody of the Registrar (Judicial) of this Court. 2.

These petitions were adjourned in order to enable the parties to take steps as agreed in the consent terms. The learned counsel for the parties now submit that necessary steps have been taken and, therefore, it is a common submission that both these petitions can be disposed off in view of the consent terms.

In the result both the petitions are disposed off in view of the consent terms dated 30/8/2019 which are marked "X" for identification. The Registrar (J) of this Court shall release the Pay Order to the respondent in Writ petition no.464/2017. In the circumstances, there shall be no order as to costs.

This Court would like to place on record appreciation for Advocate Mr. R. G. Ramani, who acted as a mediator in this case and with his efforts brought about a settlement between the parties putting an end to a long standing matrimonial dispute.
