This is an application for suspension of the sentence passed by the learned Judicial Magistrate, First Class, at Ponda, North Goa("JMFC"), in Criminal Case No. 339/0A/NIA/2017/B convicting and sentencing the applicants to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of 3 months and to pay compensation of Rs.25,50,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five lakhs Fifty Thousand Only ) and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of 1 month and confirmed 28th May 2025

11-CRMA-51-2025---.doc by the Additional Sessions Judge, Panaji, sitting at Ponda vide judgment and order dated 23.5.2025 passed in Criminal Appeal No. 52/2022.

Learned counsel for the applicants submits that during the course of the appeal, an amount of Rs.3,82,500/- came to be deposited in the Sessions Court.

Considering the submissions of the learned counsel for the applicants, the sentence of imprisonment imposed on the applicants by the learned JMFC, at Ponda shall stand suspended on the applicants furnishing bail bonds of Rs.25,000/- each with one local surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the learned JMFC, Ponda. The applicants shall also deposit an amount of Rs.8,00,000/- (Rupees eight lakhs only )in the Registry of this Court on or before 11.6.2025. 4.

Issue notice to the respondents returnable on 11.6.2025. 5.

Mr S. G. Bhobe, learned Public Prosecutor waives notice on behalf of respondent no.1.
