Heard Ms. Chakraborty, learned counsel for the original Petitioner, and Mr. D. Pangam, learned Advocate General for the Applicant.

Ms. Chakraborty has submitted comments on the compliance report filed on behalf of Respondent Nos. 2 and 3. These comments are dated 30.06.2022.

As regards the information about Tree Protection Fund, it is always open to the Petitioner to apply for and secure such information from the concerned authorities.

There is a complaint about the status of the tree census not being uploaded on the official website. The learned Advocate General states that as and when the works are completed, the same will be uploaded on the website. He further states that the progress made will now be uploaded. He states that the steps will be taken to ensure that such uploadings are made at least thrice in a year i.e. after every four months. First of such uploading will be done on or before 15.09.2022. 5.

As regards the completion of the census, the State vide Misc. Civil Application No.210 of 2022 applied for an extension of time by explaining the difficulties involved. The application also states that the work has commenced and is going on.

The learned Advocate General submits that though the application for an extension does not seek an extension up to a particular date, the extension may be granted by one year. 7.

Considering the progress made thus far, we think that the request is reasonable and can be granted.

Accordingly, the extension to complete the census exercise is granted by one year from the date of expiry of the earlier term.

The matter is already disposed of. The compliance report should now be filed on the aspect of tree census by 30.07.2023 by serving an advance copy upon Ms. Chakraborty, learned counsel for the original Petitioner.

The Misc. Civil Application is disposed of.
