The petitioner was issued a passport. He applied for renewal thereof. Despite being aware that he was an accused in a FIR, the petitioner had not disclosed the particulars of the same while so applying for renewal. The Regional Passport Officer, the sole respondent, issued a show-cause notice dated 09.08.2021 calling upon the petitioner to explain why renewal should not be refused on such ground. The petitioner claims to have submitted his explanation; however, he is aggrieved because the proceedings arising out of the show cause notice dated 09.08.2021 have not st August 2022

9-WP-332-2022.DOC yet been concluded which, he claims, has been impeding his right to travel abroad.

By instituting this writ petition, the petitioner seeks an order on the respondent to dispose of the proceedings arising out of the show cause notice in accordance with law as early as possible.

Mr. Mahesh Amonkar, learned Central Government Standing Counsel representing the respondent submits that the proceedings would be to taken to its logical conclusion by passing a final order in accordance with law not later than 15 days from the date of receipt of this order.

In view of such a statement made by Mr. Amonkar, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.

All contentions are left open. The petitioner may be communicated the decision of the respondent as soon as the proceedings are disposed of by the respondent. M. S. SONAK, J.
