This is an application to condone a quite considerable delay of 1134 days in filing the First Appeal against the Judgment and Award dated 31st January 2012 of the Adhoc District Judge-1, South Goa, at Margao, in Land Acquisition Case no 42 of 2004. The Applicant is the Goa Industrial Development Corporation. It explains the delay in paragraphs 5 to 9 by saying that it was obtaining legal advice at various levels and that this process took time. 2.

Given that this is a Government Company and bound by stringent rules of procedure, we will accept this explanation. The other factor is, of course, that the Applicant is a Government Corporation and this is a question of public funds. 19th September 2017
