Heard Mr Khandeparkar for the petitioners and Mr D. Pangam, learned Advocate General, who appears along with Mr P. Arolkar, learned Additional Government Advocate for the respondents.

The challenge in this petition is to the Memorandum dated 31.08.2017 by which the Additional Collector-II, South Goa District at Margao directed mutation, partition and conversion proceedings to be kept in abeyance. The details of these proceedings are set out in para 1 of the Memorandum dated 31.08.2017.

The petitioners, by their representation dated 12.06.2023 (at Annexure 'J' at page 162 of the paper book) have already applied to the Collector for lifting the abeyance order. 4.

Accordingly, we direct the Additional Collector to dispose of the petitioners' representation as expeditiously as possible and in any case within three months from today on its own merits and in accordance with law.
