Heard Mr V. Rodrigues, learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms. S. Mordekar, learned Addl. Govt. Advocate for the State.

2. Ms Mordekar places on record office order dated 18.5.2023 constituting Pension Cell to examine and verify the details of the pre-maturely retired pensioners in pursuance of the judgment of this Court passed in Writ Petition No.835/2017 made on 5.9.2022.

3. Ms Mordekar, on instructions states that the present petition would be treated as representation by the petitioners to this Pension Cell. She states that Pension Cell will examine the cases of all the petitioners and take an appropriate decision thereon as expeditiously as possible and in any case within a period of three months from today.

4. Pension Cell shall examine the case of each of the petitioners and 20th February, 2024

WP 878 of 2023 take appropriate decisions in accordance with law within three months from today. This decision must be communicated to the petitioners. If the Pension Cell concludes that petitioners are entitled to the benefits as were extended to the petitioners in Writ Petition No. 835/2017 and connected matters, such benefits are promptly extended by the respondents to the petitioners without requiring the petitioners to once again approach this Court.

5. Mr Rodirgues points out that the petitioners are the retired employees. From the cause title we find that almost all of these petitioners are above 75 years of age with the exception of one or two petitioners who are stated to be 72 and 74 years respectively.
