Heard Shri D. Pangam, learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioners, Shri Mahesh Amonkar, learned Asst. Solicitor General appearing for the Respondent nos. 1 and 3 and Shri Bhobe, learned Counsel appearing for the Respondent no. 2.

2. The short grievance raised in the above Writ Petition is that though an application under Section 9 under the Citizenship Act, 1955, has been filed on 23.12.2013, such application has not been disposed of by the Respondent no. 1.

3. Shri Mahesh Amonkar, learned Asst. Solicitor General, appearing for the Respondent nos. 1 and 3, points out that the inquiry is in

WP/639/2014 progress and considering the nature of such inquiry, sufficient time would be required to complete such exercise.

4. Shri A. D. Bhobe, learned Counsel appearing for the Respondent no.2 urges that in case any such directions are issued, the authority may proceed to decide the issues without following the provisions of the Citizenship Laws and Rules.

5. Considering the rival contentions and taking note of the fact that the application is pending from the year 2013, we find it appropriate to dispose of the above Writ Petition by directing the Respondent no.1 to try and dispose of such application dated 23.12.2013 as expeditiously as possible in any event before the end of June 2015.

6. Needless to say, the authority shall proceed to examine the application in accordance with law.
