Learned counsel for respondent No.1-Punjab National Bank has placed on record the communication dated 27.05.2023 of Cyber Cell ND & NSD, Kolkata Police and the same is marked 'X' for identification. The communication records that for the purpose of enquiry, respondent No.1 immediately stopped/freezed the fraudulent amount of Rs.55,145/- in respect of Bank Account No.4004002100006687. Respondent No.1-Bank may proceed to furnish the information called upon for the purpose of enquiry. 27th November, 2024
WP 656 of 2024 However, the petitioner's apprehension that the entire bank account will be freezed is unfounded as what has been stated in the communication is to immediately stop/freeze the fraudulent amount of Rs.55,145/-. Therefore, respondent No.1 while freezing the amount of Rs.55,145/- from the account No.4004002100006687 must permit the petitioner to operate the bank account for the balance amount. Hence, the account be defreezed except to the extent of Rs.55,145/-.
3. Annexed along with the affidavit in reply is the communication dated 12.07.2023, which on instructions of the petitioner, learned counsel for the petitioner says that the account number which ends with 42595 does not belong to the petitioner. The petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs.
