Heard Shri Ryan Menezes, learned counsel for the applicant and Shri Mahesh Amonkar, learned Additional PP for the respondent.

2. The applicant has been convicted and sentenced for the offences punishable under Sections 279 and 304-A of Indian Penal Code and to undergo simple imprisonment for one month on each count and was directed to pay compensation of Rs.50,000/- on each count and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for 15 days, which order came to be confirmed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Margao. He submits that the applicant was on bail during the trial and, therefore, the

CRMA/217/2017 learned counsel seeks suspension of sentence pending criminal revision application.

3. The learned Additional PP has no objection in suspending the sentence of the applicant, pending criminal revision application.

4. It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the applicant that the applicant is ready to deposit 50% of the total amount of compensation in the Registry today itself by cheque. Upon depositing the cheque as above, the applicant be released on furnishing fresh bail in the sum of Rs.20,000/- with one solvent surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the Registrar (Judicial)/Officer of this Court. Needless to say that the applicant shall remain present at the time of final hearing of the criminal revision application.
