This is an application for suspension of sentence of the applicant, who has been convicted by the JMFC for the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and sentenced to simple imprisonment for a period of three months and directed the applicant to pay an amount of Rs. 1,60,000/- as compensation to the complainant, in default to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of three months. The appeal preferred by the applicant against the said judgment has been dismissed by the Sessions Judge on 31.8.2017 directing the applicant to surrender before the learned JMFC, Margao within a period of 15 days, inter alia, directing to pay the amount of the compensation. The applicant has deposited the compensation

CRMA/226/2017 amount. In view of the said fact, sentence awarded to the applicant stands suspended till the decision of Criminal Revision Application on his furnishing bail in the sum of Rs.15,000/- with one surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the Registrar (Judicial) of this Court. The applicant is permitted to deposit balance amount of compensation in the office of this Court.
