Heard Ms. Kamat Wagh for the Applicant.

The Applicant as well as the Respondent are appearing through V.C. The Respondent has produced an authenticated copy of her passport on record. The identity of the Respondent is confirmed through the photograph and the name on the passport, with the person appearing on V.C. today.

3.

The Respondent submits that she has no objection to the prayers made in the present Application.

4.

The marriage between the Applicant and the Respondent was registered in Goa with the Civil Registrar, Salcete at Margao on 12.10.2011 bearing Entry No. 1854/2011.

Subsequently, the parties applied for divorce before the Dubai Court and vide Divorce Certificate No. 163/M/2021, the concerned Court granted divorce to the parties. The notarized copy of the Divorce Certificate along with the necessary translation have been placed on record.

Articles 1101 and 1102 of the Portuguese Code of Civil Procedure applies to the present matter wherein this Court is entitled to consider and confirm the decree passed by the Foreign Court.

Accordingly, prayer clauses (A) and (B) in the present Application stand allowed, which read thus:

(A) For an Order granting confirmation of foreign decree dated 04/07/2021 to the Applicant. (B) An Order directing the Civil Registrar of Margao, South Goa to cancel the marriage registered under the Entry No. 1854/2011.
