Heard Mr. Kamat, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr. Dangui, learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

This is a contempt petition filed by the petitioner, inter alia, contending that despite of the orders passed by this Court while disposing of Writ Petition No.347 of 1996 prohibiting any bull fight in the State of Goa and in violation thereof some bull fight were conducted in the village of Pernem. Though there was serious dispute about the time when such bull fight occurred, nevertheless, the fact that the bull fight had occurred, is not disputed on the relevant date as claimed by the petitioner. In the meanwhile, the

CP/21/2015 respondents have filed an affidavit, inter alia, bringing to the notice of this Court that a prohibitory order has been issued on 29th February, 2016 prohibiting any such bull fight besides show cause notices were also issued to the concerned District Collector, Superintendent of Police (North), Deputy Collector, Pernem , Police Inspector Pernem in connection with the alleged bull fights on the relevant date.

Considering that action is being taken by the respondents in compliance with the orders of this Court and as the learned Additional Government Advocate states that the prohibitory order shall be duly published and the said show cause notices have been issued, we find that nothing survives in the above contempt petition at this stage. It is also brought to our notice that the charge-sheet has also been filed against the persons, who had indulged in bull fight, before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Pernem.

4. In view of the above, accepting such statement of learned Additional Government Advocate, upon instructions, and based on an affidavit filed by the respondents, the above contempt petition stands disposed of accordingly.
