Only prayer made by the learned counsel for the Petitioner is expeditious disposal of the proceedings pending before the Scrutiny Committee. The learned Additional Government Advocate, upon instructions of Shri Devu Gaonkar, Assistant Director, who is present in Court states that the hearing before the Scrutiny Committee is scheduled for tomorrow and the process of vigilance inquiry is undergoing. He states that the decision by the Scrutiny Committee will be taken within a period of three months from today.

We accept the statement. We expect the RespondentCommittee to adhere to this commitment since the issue involved is regarding the validity of the caste certificate of Respondent No.4 who is an elected candidate. However, it is also expected that the Respondent-Scrutiny Committee will carry out the scrutiny carefully and not in hurry, as the consequences of grant or rejection of the validity of certificate has various implications. 3.

In view of this statement made by the learned Additional Government Advocate, the writ petition is disposed of. Nutan D. Sardessai, J. N.M. Jamdar, J.
