2. The petition, inter alia, takes exception to the repeated extensions granted to the post occupied by the respondent no.4 as State Registrar-cum-Head of Notary Services in the State of Goa. The learned Additional Government Advocate filed an affidavit of the Under Secretary (Personnel) of the State of Goa, inter alia disclosing at para 6 thus:

"However, in the present facts and circumstances, the Government has decided not to grant further extension. In view of the same, the Respondent no.4 will retire on 31.5.2017".

3. The affidavit clearly states that no further extension would be granted to the respondent no.4. Considering the statement in the said affidavit, we find that the issue raised in the petition is purely academic. Keeping all the contentions open, the petition stands disposed off.
