This Petition was filed on 13 October 2009, challenging the order of transfer dated 22 September 2009. 2.

The Petitioner was working as a Teacher in a Government Primary School. She was transferred from one part of Panaji to another part in Panaji. At the time of issuance of Rule, no interim relief was granted.

The matter was referred to Lok Adalat. The matter first appeared before the Lok Adalat on 13 December 2014. On 14 March 2015, when the matter was placed before the Lok Adalat, compromise terms signed by the Advocates were taken on record and an Award was passed accordingly. The learned Counsel for the parties state that the Petition be accordingly disposed of in view of the Award of the Lok Adalat. The following order was passed on that date by the Lok Adalat :

"The Advocate for the petitioner as well as Government Advocate present. They have filed the note for withdrawal of the petition on the ground that the petitioner desires to make representation to the Director of Education to post her at the vacancy which is likely to arise at Government Primary School, Porvorim and that the same may be considered by the Directer expeditiously. The note is under the signature of Advocate for the petitioner as well as the Government Advocate. Accordingly the said note is placed on record and to enable to pass an effective order in that regard matter shall be placed before the Hon'ble Court. "

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of in terms of the Award and the Order of the Lok Adalat, which has been reproduced as above.

We, however, note that the Award was passed on 14 March 2015 and the Petition has been placed on the weekly board

3 wp658-09-31-8-18 and has reached hearing in regular course in the year 2018. The Registry ought to have placed the Petition immediately on Board for passing of the order in terms of the Award. The entire object of referring the matters for settlement is to give quietus to the dispute. Registry shall take note of this lapse and henceforth place the matters which have been concluded by the award of the Lok Adalat, immediately before the Court for necessary directions. Prithviraj K.
