This revision is directed against the judgment and order dated 23.10.2015 passed by the Additional Sessions Judge-I, South, Margao in criminal appeal No.99 of 2014 by which the appeal preferred by the appellant/accused against the judgment and order of conviction and sentence dated 20.07.2014 passed by the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Quepem in Criminal Case No.30/NI/2011-A convicting the appellant for the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act has been dismissed.

The learned Magistrate by the impugned order convicted and sentenced her to undergo imprisonment for a period of 6 months and to pay compensation of Rs.1 lac and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of 6 months. 4.

The parties have agreed to settle the matter. The respondent No.1 is agreeable to settle the matter and compound the offence upon payment of Rs.1lac which has been ordered to pay as compensation. Admittedly, the said amount is deposited before the Hon'ble High Court.

Recording the settlement arrived at between the parties and the compounding of the offence under Section 138 of the

3 9-CRIR-78-2015.doc Negotiable Instruments Act, we deem it appropriate to place the matter before the appropriate Bench for formal orders, in accordance with law.
