Though the Petitioner has raised different contentions with regard to an inquiry conducted against the Petitioner, nevertheless, Mr. Sardesai, learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner, restricts his grievance only to seek a direction to the Appellate Authority, which is Respondent no. 3, to hear the Appeal preferred by the Petitioner and registered way back in March, 2016, as expeditiously as possible.

3. Mr. Mahesh Amonkar, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Respondents submits that the Appellate Authority shall examine such appeal as expeditiously as possible. Mr. Sardesai, however, pointed out that the Petitioner be given ad-interim relief not to implement the punishment imposed against the Petitioner.

4. In the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case, we dispose of the above petition by calling upon the Respondent no. 3, which is the Appellate Authority, to dispose of the Appeal preferred by the Petitioner within three months from the date of receipt of this Order.

5. As far as the ad-interim relief sought by the Petitioner, it would not be appropriate for this Court to grant such relief when the Appeal is pending before the Appellate Authority. Hence, Petitioner, if so advised, to seek relief before the Appellate Authority who will examine such request in accordance with law. All contentions of both the parties are left open.
