2 WP189-16 ORAL JUDGMENT : (PER F.M. REIS, J.) Heard Shri Salil Saudagar, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr. Mahesh Amonkar, learned Central Govt. Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents No.1 and 2 and Mr. Amogh Prabhudessai, learned Additional Govt. Advocate appearing for the respondent No.3.

Rule. Learned Counsel appearing for the respondents waive service. Heard forthwith, with the consent of the learned Counsel.

Upon hearing the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the respondents, the main grievance of the petitioner appears to be that though the petitioner had filed an application way back in the year 2012 for renewal of her Identity Certificate along with all the original documents, including the original identity certificate, no decision has yet been taken by the respondent No.2 on such application.

Shri Amonkar, learned Central Govt. Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents No.1 and 2, upon instructions, states that

3 WP189-16 in the meanwhile, all such applications for renewal, as well as for acquiring Indian Citizenship are to be applied Online, along with the requite documents. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, however, points out that all the original documents have already been submitted to the respondent No.2 along with the application which bears File No.M 003537 and Cash Receipt No.GOA 079424 dated 23.11.2012. Shri Amonkar, as such, submits that, the petitioner or her representative may visit the Office of the respondent No.2 on Monday, 13th June, 2016 at 10.30 a.m. and report to the respondent No.2 who will return all the original documents, so as to enable the petitioner to file a fresh application Online, in terms of the relevant provisions in force as on date.

In view of the above, nothing further survives in the above petition. The petitioner, as such, is at liberty to obtain the return of all the original documents and submit a fresh application Online in terms of the relevant rules. If such an application is filed, the respondent No.2 shall take a decision on such application as expeditiously as possible, and in any event, within one month from the date of receipt of such application.
