Heard Mr. G. Sardessai, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr. C. A. Ferreira, learned counsel appearing for the respondent no.1 and Mr. M. Amonkar, learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent nos. 2 and 3.

2. After hearing the matter for some time, we find that without going into the merits of the rival contentions sought to be raised by the petitioner, the above petition can be conveniently disposed of by directing the respondent no.1 to take a decision on the application filed by the petitioner dated 05.08.2016 at Annexure G Colly to the petition essentially to the request made at para 10 therein. When asked as to how much time the respondent no.1 would take to take a

WP/1034/2016 decision with that regard, Mr. C. A. Ferreira, learned counsel appearing for the respondent no.1 states that normally such decision can be taken within two weeks from today. Hence, the petition stands disposed of accordingly by directing the respondent no.1 to take a decision on the application dated 05.08.2016 filed by the petitioner in the light of the observations made herein above in accordance with law within two weeks from today.

3. The petition stands disposed of accordingly with no order as to costs.
