1. The Petitioner in Contempt Petition No.2780/2023 (F) alleges non-compliance with our order dated 17.10.2023 by which the Panchayat was directed to dispose of Petitioner's application for renewal of construction licence or consideration of revised plans 13th December, 2023
CP(F) 2780 of 2023 within four weeks.
2. The Panchayat has filed an application seeking extension of time to comply with our directions. Mr Pranay Kamat, learned Counsel for the Panchayat, states that extension may be granted upto 05.01.2024 by which date some decision will be taken and communicated to the Petitioner.
3. Considering the reasons set out in the application for extension and the request now made, we extend the time for compliance upto 05.01.2024. We also record Mr Kamat's statement made on instructions that the decision would be communicated to the Petitioner before 05.01.2024.
4. Accordingly, we dispose of the Contempt Petition as well as the Application for extension of time. There shall be no order for costs. VALMIKI SA MENEZES, J.
