2. By the Impugned Judgment dated 28.11.2008 passed by the learned District Judge, North Goa at Mapusa in Civil Suit No. 23 of 2004, the Appellants had been directed to pay the compensation for the area of the suit plot as per the rate fixed by the Land Acquisition Officer (vide exhibit 16) together with all the benefits/interest and costs of the suit.

3. The learned Additional Government Advocate, on instructions, states that the decretal amount alongwith interest shall be deposited within eight weeks from today. The statement is accepted. There shall be interim stay of the Impugned Judgment and Decree subject to the Applicants depositing the entire decretal amount alongwith interest before this Court, within a period of eight weeks from today. The Civil Application is disposed of.
