This is joint application for confirmation of a Foreign Judgment/Decree granting Divorce to the Applicants. The application has been filed under Article 1101 of the Portuguese Civil Procedure Code read with Section 13 of the Civil Procedure Code. 2.

The parties had registered their marriage before the Civil

Registration Office of Tiswadi, Panaji, North Goa and entry to that effect has been made under No.140 of 1989 dated 28.03.1989 in the Marriage Registration book of the year 1989.

The parties were divorced vide order dated 07.06.2024 passed by the Superior Court of Justice at Brampton, Ontario L6W4T1, Canada in Case No.FS-21-99976-0000, which order was issued on 14.06.2024 and a Certificate of Divorce was issued on 30.07.2025. The decree of Divorce of the foreign Court is passed on the mutual consent of the parties.

On perusing conditions of the Final Order passed, the same does not appear to be a Judgment passed based on law contrary to the Public Policy of India and appears to conform with the laws of the land, as would be applicable to the parties, within the State of Goa. Consequently, the application is allowed. The Final Order dated 07.06.2024, passed by the Superior Court of Justice at Brampton, Ontario L6W4T1, Canada, is confirmed and held as final and conclusive.

The marriage of the Applicants shall stand dissolved on the confirmation of this Foreign Decree. Consequently, the Civil Registrar is directed to make appropriate endorsement against the Entry No.140 of 1989 dated 28.03.1989 in the Marriage Registration book of the year 1989, recording confirmation of the aforementioned Decree of Divorce and cancel such registration.

The order is made absolute in the above terms. 7.

The present application stands disposed of.
