The learned counsel for the applicant (original accused), on instructions, submits that his client is ready to pay an amount of Rs.2,72,000/- today by cash to the Officer of the respondents. The learned counsel for the respondents submits that after accepting the said amount, he has no objection to compound the offence. The statements are accepted.

2. After accepting the amount by the respondents, the petitioner is permitted to withdraw an amount of Rs.50,000/- deposited before the District Court, Mapusa.

3. It is submitted that the petitioner is in jail. Since the respondents have accepted the amount and the offence has been

CRIR/67/2017 duly compounded by way of joint pursis filed on record, the applicant is acquitted of the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and he be released forthwith, if not required in any other case.

4. Criminal Revision Application stands disposed of accordingly.
