In view of the subsequent events and as the disqualification of five years contemplated by Section 164 of the Companies Act is already over during the pendency of the petition, the petitioner can be now reappointed as the Director of the Company or any other Company. The question raised in the petition, therefore, is only academic. In case of any difficulty, and, if a decision on any of the contentions raised in 25th June, 2024

WP 1054 of 2019 the petition may have a bearing in any proceedings, liberty to apply for restoration. The questions raised in the petition are kept open.
