2. This was a Public Interest Litigation concerning construction of footpath on the road from Parra to Gandhi chowk, Mapusa.

3. From time to time, the concerned Respondents have been filing compliance/status reports. In terms of the status/compliance reports filed, the works from Parra to Bodgeshwar temple are complete.

4. In so far as the stretch from Bodgeshwar temple to Gandhi chowk is concerned, the learned AG hands in a work order dated 08.03.2024 issued to M/s. Abcon Engineering awarding them the contract for completion of works of widening and improvement of MDR-8 from Gandhi Circle to Bodgeshwar temple in Mapusa Constituency of Bardez Taluka.

5. The learned AG submits that in terms of the work order, the contractor has to complete these works within 180 calendar days including monsoon. Accordingly, we expect the contractor to complete these works within the assigned time.

6. The learned AG states that the compensation claims of

Respondent No.14 are being processed and will be dealt with in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.

7. By recording the above statement and appreciating the proactive stance adopted by the concerned Respondents, we dispose of this petition.

8. Misc. Civil Application No.200 of 2022 does not survive the disposal of this petition and the same is also formally disposed of. VALMIKI SA MENEZES, J.
