The main relief in this petition is to direct the respondents to take a decision on the issue of sanction for reassessment of taxes and expenditure, which is pending for a quite some time. 3.

By our order dated 14 th January 2019, we had adjourned the matter in order to enable Mr. Faldessai to obtain instructions as to the time limit within which the final decision will be taken by the

mukund 2 wp-44/2019 respondents in this matter.

Today, Mr. Faldessai, learned Additional Government Advocate, states that the final decision will be taken regards the aforesaid issues maximum within a period of four weeks from today. This statement is made on the basis of instructions from the Director of Panchayats, who is present in the Court, is accepted. 5.

The acceptance of the aforesaid statement, the main grievance in the present petition stands redressed. The Director of Panchayats to take the final decision on the issue of sanction of reassessment and expenditure, on its own merits, and in accordance with law within a period of maximum within a period of four weeks from today.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. There shall be no order as to costs.

All concerned to act on the basis of an authenticated copy of this order.
