Heard the learned APP for the State. Perused the application received through jail in which the substantive prayer is prayer (B) which reads thus:

"B) by an appropriate order or direction of this Hon'ble High Court. The Respondent No.2 and 3 be directed to Present objective reports of Parole and Furlough leaves of Petitioner."

The leaned APP tendered across the bar a chart submitted to him by the Superintendent of Kolhapur Central Jail. The present writ petition is submitted by the petitioner in December 2017. The chart tendered by the learned APP shows that by order dated 4th April 2018, the petitioner has been ordered to be enlarged on furlough. It also records

SKN 2/2 21.18-wp.doc that the application dated 30th August 2017 made by the petitioner for grant of furlough was rejected on 3rd January 2018 (i.e. after filing of this petition). Thus, as of today, this petition has become academic and cannot be entertained.

The petition is accordingly disposed of. Copy of this order shall be forwarded to the applicant through Jail Superintendent of the concerned jail.
