It appears that the application made by the Petitioner on 12 April 2016, seeking appointment on compassionate basis to a post, which has fallen vacant after untimely death of her father while in service, is still pending for decision by Respondent Nos. 1 and 2.

Considering the nature of the appointment sought by the Petitioner, we are of the view that the application ought to have been decided one way or the other by Respondent Nos. 1 and 2. 4.

We, therefore, direct Respondent Nos. 1 and 2 to decide the application dated 12 April 2016, filed by the Petitioner in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible and preferably within six months from the date of receipt of the order. 5.
