The applicant is convicted under section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act by the judgment and order dated 4th February, 2011 passed by the learned Judicial Magistrate First Class, Miraj in S.C.C No. 815 of 2003 and is sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for six months and pay fine. He is also directed to pay compensation of Rs.1,80,000/- to the complainant. The said order was challenged in Criminal Appeal No. 52 of 2011. The learned Special Judge and Additional Sessions Judge-1, Sangli by order dated 14th February, 2018 has partly allowed the Criminal Appeal. Though the conviction was confirmed, direction of
