It is not disputed before the Court that the issue raised in these Petitions is squarely covered by the judgment in Popat Bahiru Govardhane and Ors. vs. Special Land Acquisition Officer and Anr. (2013) 10 SCC 765 wherein the Supreme Court has held that the quasi judicial Authority-the Land Acquisition Collector/Ofcer is not a Court and therefore the provisions of Limitation Act, 1963 do not apply. 2.

In light of the above, the impugned orders of the Respondent No.3-Special Land Acquisition Ofcer rejecting the Applications of the Petitioners under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, on the ground of limitation relying upon the aforesaid judgment of the Supreme Court cannot be faulted. 3.

The Petitions are accordingly dismissed.
