Learned Counsel for the Petitioner stated that the limited prayer the Petitioner is seeking is that the Appeal filed by Respondent No.3-Bank against the order dated 30.06.2016 passed by Respondent No.1-Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India, which is pending since August, 2016 before the Appellate Authority of Respondent No.2-Union of India, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi be decided expeditiously. Learned Counsel for Respondent No.2 has placed on record a letter dated 10.07.2018 of the Section Officer of Respondent No.2. The letter discloses that the final hearing for disposal of Appeal is kept on 19.07.2018. The said letter is taken on record and marked 'X'.

In the circumstances, we direct the Appellate Authority to dispose of 1/2

(3) WP 4902-18 .doc the Appeal expeditiously and in any event by 15.09.2018. 3.

Needless to say that if the Respondent No.3-Bank does not appear and co-operate, it would be open to the Appellate Authority to pass appropriate orders including dismissal of the Appeal. 4.
