Earlier, the office had put a remark that these Petitions are already disposed of and that the same was wrongly on

18.WP.5691-2007.DOCX board. However, later on the office has put a remark that there are no orders disposing of these Petitions. 3.

In the file however, we find a detailed order dated 20 December 2007. Apparently, the challenge to the constitutional validity has been negative by that order. However, the last paragraph of this judgment and order states that facts of each case will have to be examined to see whether the election of the respective Petitioner therein is deemed to have been terminated.

The Petitioners were elected as the members of the Zilla Parishad on 12 March 2007. Therefore, by now, the term of the Zilla Parishad would have concluded. The reliefs in these Petitions are accordingly become infructuous and there is no need to keep these Petitions pending.

For all the above reasons, we dismiss/dispose of these Writ Petitions.
