On 16 October 2023, the following order was passed : " The Petitioner has sought to quash the permission given by Respondent Nos. 1 to 4 in favour of the private Respondent No. 5 for carrying out mining of sand. The Petition was filed in the year 2011. The petition was filed by the Petitioner in larger interest being resident of the area. Since the petition is pending from the year 2011, the present position needs to be placed on record as to whether the permission has lapsed or it has been renewed. 2 The learned AGP for the State to take instructions from the concerned Respondents.

The learned AGP, on instructions, states that permission, which was granted to Respondent No.5, has lapsed by efflux of time and the same has not been renewed.
