By an order dated 7.5.2015, this court directed the Respondent­Election Officer to proceed with regard to finalization of the electoral roll. It was further directed that the Election Officer shall not proceed with the actual declaration of election programme. This order must have been passed with a view to allow the Election Officer to decide the objections raised by the petitioners. After taking such a decision, the Election Officer would be entitled to proceed further.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioners by the learned counsel that on 9.4.2015, objections raised by the petitioners were addressed in the communication to the DDR. According to election programme, the objections were to be submitted on or before 30.5.2015 and the decision on the objections was to be taken on 15.6.2015.

2 wp4420.15.odt Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the intervenor submit that so far the Election Officer has not decided the objections.

Learned AGP submits that within four weeks, the Election Officer would take appropriate decision. We direct the Election Officer to take appropriate decision within four weeks in accordance with law. Parties undertake to cooperate with the Election Officer during the decision making process. No sooner the decision is taken, the Election Officer shall take further steps. We have not expressed any opinion on merits of the case.
