This contempt petition is filed consequent to the order passed by the Division Bench of this Court dated 18th March 2013 in PIL No.75/2008. Affidavitinreply of Shri Ranjit Singh Deol, Commissioner, Social Welfare, Maharashtra has been filed on behalf of respondent No.7. It is submitted that in accordance with the directions given by the Division Bench of this Court in PIL No.75/2008 and PIL No.104/2010, necessary action has been taken. Government Resolution (G.R.) dated 28th August 2014 has been issued. Criminal cases were directed to be lodged against the members who failed to submit caste certificate of competent forum and validity certificate thereof. The deponent has referred to two orders,
skn 2/3 one is of Nagpur Bench dated 22nd September 2014 passed in WP No.1057/2014 and other is 25th March 2015 passed in WP No.5729/2014 and two connected petitions.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that in majority of the cases out of 372 cooperative societies, the members have failed to furnish caste certificates from competent forum. The State ought to have taken stringent action against the said societies but the State is continuing to grant benefits under various schemes to such of these societies wherein the members have not furnished caste certificates. 3.
The learned A.G.P. appearing for the State submits that in accordance with the directions of this Court the State authorities have taken action against the societies and orders have been passed to stop their grants. However, some of such societies have obtained orders from the Court. Learned A.G.P. submits that G.R. is issued and necessary instructions are given for timebound disposal of the cases of these members.

We have perused the record and the relevant orders passed. We find that the contemnor has given reasonable explanation in respect of grievances of the petitioner. We have also perused the order passed by this court in the writ petitions filed by concerned societies. 5.
We observe that respondent Nos.1, 4 and 6 shall continue to monitor and supervise the implementation of the order passed by this
skn 3/3 Court. Necessary steps be taken so that object behind passing of orders and issuing of G.R. would be achieved. Needless to mention that public money is disbursed to these societies.

With the aforesaid observation, petition is disposed of. 7.
