DATE : 26th JUNE, 2025 P.C.:- 1) Smt. Shinde, learned A.P.P. on instructions from the Superintendent, Kolhapur Central Jail, Kalamba, Kolhapur, submitted that, as the Petitioner No.1 had completed 65 years of age and is suffering from various medical problems, the concerned Committee considered the case of Petitioner No.1 and had directed his release after completion of 14 years of imprisonment. Accordingly, the Petitioner No.1 has been released from jail on 29th June, 2024.
1.1) She further submitted that, as far as Petitioner No.2 is concerned, as he has completed 14 years of actual imprisonment and including exemptions and/or remissions had completed 22 years of imprisonment, the Secretary, Home Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai by its Order No. RLP/1418/PK-587/2018/Jail-3, dated 29th August 2019 has directed his release from jail. Accordingly, the Petitioner No.2 has been released from jail on 11th January 2020.
2) In view of the above, present Petition has become infructuous and is accordingly disposed off.
