The Petitioners are absent. Prima facie, the Petition cannot be entertained in our writ jurisdiction. It seems to be a private dispute between the Petitioner and Respondents Nos. 8 to 12 or some of them relating to land in Sangli.

The Petition says that the Petitioner is a social worker doing social work for the public at large and also fighting against the Government for the public at large. We do not know how this gives the Petitioner a cause of action or locus. What is, however, not in dispute is that in paragraph 6 of the Petition, the Petitioner himself 5th September 2023

920-ASWP-10785-2023.DOC says that this cause of action arose in 2014. If that be so, in 2023 we must decline to exercise our jurisdiction on the well-settled principle that writ remedies are not meant for those who sleep over their rights.
