Learned AGP is present, with his assistance we have gone through the record of the Petition. Petitioners claim to be part time employees of the State of Maharashtra. They have sought a direction that this Court should direct the Respondents to initiate a special drive for appointment of part time employees, educated unemployed. This Petition is filed on 18th July, 2007 and has remained pending. Various resolutions are referred to. 3.

It is now 16 years since this Petition was filed as regards the cause of unemployed. The State has come out with various

BGP 2 (211)-WP-8827-07.doc initiatives. The policies have undergone a change. Either the issue raised by the Petitioners has been partly redressed or it could have been aggravated. So as to what are the changes by passage of time, nothing is placed on record. It is not possible for this Court to give general direction without placing current data on record. 4.

Accordingly, we dispose of the Petition observing, that if even today, considering the present policy, the cause raised by the Petitioners subsists, it is open for the Petitioners or to similarly placed persons to raise the same either by moving this Court or by taking recourse to remedies in law.
